I have a GT1642 Wheelhorse with a 42" deck. There are 3 blades, located under the deck, that need to be sharpened. I have never removed the blades before. What is the best way to do this? And once they are removed, is there any special sharpening recommendations/techniques, or just use typical/traditional sharpening techniques?

Thank you in advance for your time
MLucey

I just got a GT-1642 Wheel Horse mower. I had to take the deck off the mower so I could get at the nuts and get enough leverage. Wouldn't you know the model # on the mower and the engine are faded, unable to read. This makes finding parts very hard. I was wondering if yours is the same. If they're not faded could you list them for me?

I bet every person who reads this post has their own way of sharpening blades !
I sharpen mine with a 60 degree edge so it does not dull so easy . Bill in Richmond , Va.
