Noma was mfg of equipment for several yrs, made majority of product under other brandnames on contract for Sears,,Penneys, etc.Believe with all the consolidations/mergers/buyouts/takeovers Noma may now be under Murray's umbrella, believe Murray beat out MTD on that one,but not positive.

Hi Joe, thanks 4 the info. What kind of ordeal am i lookin at gettin into fix'n the steering.I can see it's where the gear and steering plate with teeth on it are screwed up.I was lookin at maybe making a new plate and making it double thickness of original manufacturing specks.

With the setup you have it seems to me part would have been prone to wear,in demand and therefore stocked heavily.Part may have not been too light,so to speak, but perhaps should have been tempered for better wear, but Noma/AMF/Dynamark was in business to make inexpensive tractors for chain store sales and shortcutting a step may have made the difference between winning a contract or not,Keep in mind those 3 companys,if part is not available thru "Noma" perhaps the part is available thru salvage on similar model under other names.
