Hi everyone. I would like some info on the Cub Cadet 125. I know the tranny is a hydrostatic but does it have the same gears as the Farmall Cub? Is the hydro a good tranny and is the Kohler a good engine? Does the tractor have any weak points? I will check out the IH registry and the Cub Cadet board. But I would like to hear the experiences of the guys here that have a Cub Cadet 125. Thanks in advance guys.

I have owned two 125s. The first was traded on a 682 and almost a year ago I bought another with mower deck. They are very rugged little tractors and with proper care they are almost indestructible. Yes, some of them (mine included) do have a whine to the transmission. So did the old Massey Harris and Oliver farm tractors. This didn't make any of those tractors less productive. You will find the 125 a hard working and enjoyable tractor.

I got rid of my Cub 125 last year. It was a good tractor that I worked very hard. I picked it up cheep because the tractor didn't move very well. A change of hydro fluid and what seem to be the original filter cured that. I used it for 5 years.
The biggest weak point to me was the starter generator. The K301 Kohler engine is about bullet proof.
