Just got a Bolens G11 (1155). Went 800 miles round trip for it. I need to do a few things to it (ah, ready to use, was it?). Mainely I have to rebuild the carb, and the engine REALLY needs some rings at the very least. It smokes like a freighttrain, but oddly enough, still has plenty of power, even for such a small engine.

Anyway, where is the best place to get a good rebuild kit for a 11 horse briggs single and the carb that's on it? Mostly, I just want a piston/rings and gaskets. I moonlight at a machine shop, so I'm not really worried about valves or anything I can machine myself.

I have found over the years that quality gasket sets vary very little in price between brands. If a given offer is much less, see what it "does not" include.Often a "set" that sells for less requires you to buy one or more extra gaskets to have eveything.

I don't know if you can set up an account, but you can try Sooner Distibuting at 1-800-224-4704
I see in a Stens rebuild kit .010 over including piston, gasket set, both oil seals, both valves and chrome rings for around $ 50.00 plus shipping. It is part number 785-550 and fits models 251700 thru 257700 vertical 11 h.p.
The kit in a Prime Line #7-09707 is about the same price. I need the model to get carb kit #'s.
I hope it helps. .020 under connecting rod I think is #510-069 and is about $ 28.00, standard rod is #510-065 and about $ 25.00.
