1650 cub cadet sparks when cold.... very lite spark when hot.... Coil gets warm.... any suggestions please help....grass getting real high

hi i just got my 1650 in the spring the last 2 times i mowed it shut down i had no spark then i checked the spark plug wire with a voltameter and found it had a brake in it then i replaced it and now it works fine hope you find out soon terry

i would try points,condenser and points rod first. also be sure your maintaining at least 8.5 volts when running ,must have at least 8.5 for coil to fire.... lucas

Replace the coil, then check to make sure your generator is wired correctly, reversing the wires will cause the coil to heat and burn points!

I HAD THIS TROUBLE BEFORE AND MINE TURNED OUT TO BE A BAD CONDENSER GOOD LUCK!!
