I just purchased a used Dynamark 18/42 Lawn Tractor, and am looking for any info/diagrams that I can get on it. The tractor seemed to be in very good condition, and I did not even try to negotiate the $475 selling price. However, it was delivered with the mowing deck detached, as it would not have fit in the truck that way, and the part was left off because of the fact that a new deck belt was needed. I would definitely need routing instructions for the belt (whenever I could locate one), and any help would be most appreciated.

Thanx

Nate

I believe Dynamark/Noma is now division of Murray.
Cannot locate "5012" in reference book.Is this off model no tag or side of tractor?

JoeK,

Thanks for responding. No, that model (5012) is not listed on my machine, but was supposed to be a tractor classification for my unit- which was found at som website. The actual model number of my lawn tractor is 4218-2201. The serial# is 599742, and the code# is 7127. Anything that you have on it, and could share would be deeply appreciated.

Nate

Blade Belt-1/2x108+1/2,OEM No.49330(Gates 6871?)

JoeK,

Thanks. The belt information is indeed helpful. After obtaining one, I will then be shouldered with the problem of how to go about properly routing it (deck belt). Murray did say that they have a manual & parts list, which they were going to send out to me, but my yard needs cutting ASAP, and a back problem does not easily permit the usage of my walk-behind mower, which is not self-propelled. We'll see what happens.

Well, the deck belt for my tractor (MURRAY 301935) came in today, and - with a crude drawing from the guy at the shop - was able to get the belt properly installed. I soon learned, however, that I had left a horrendous cut path through my yard. I then noticed that the deck would drag lower on one side, and would also shake & shimmy quite a bit (moreso, I thought, than maybe it normally should). There is one wheel at the right front side of the deck, and two rear wheels attached to the elevation handle. It would seem to me that another wheel would have been installed at the left front side of the deck - for this is where the deck begins to drag the ground. I wonder if there WAS supposed to be one there, and that the seller pulled one over on me. If the operating manual, from Murray, does indeed come in, maybe I will have some answers to my questions - and some alleviation of my worries. It isn't that all would be a total loss, though, because I know that my children would have a ball driving it around the yard.

Hi again,

Well, I have finally gotten things together, and feel a great deal better than before. I received that information from Murray, on my unit, and learned - contrary to my previous manner of thinking - that there was NOT a fourth wheel to be incorporated on my mower deck. I tinkered around with this thing for about an hour, before I honed in on what the problem was (for the front, left-side dip of the mower deck - which left very unsatisfactory results in the cut path). The right front wheel had adopted a rearward position, which didn't allow for a proper setting of levelness. After repositioning this wheel I was able to obtain the proper height setting around the entire deck, and the path that it now leaves is even better than expected (for such an aged unit). So, I just wanted to share this with you all.

If you have the abilty, using scanner or MS Paint, email me a rough sketch of top view of deck, indicating pulley locations, rough sizes, flat or groove pulleys and which are on blade shafts and we can prolly figure it out.Ain't had one beat me recently anyhow :)(Use"Deck"as subject line please)
