I've got a 5hp. Briggs and Starton Tiller motor. I've cleaned it up. Cleaned the carburator. It's getting fire and it sounds like it wants to crank , but can't.I even manualy primed it and it still won't crank. The first time I tried to crank it,it started...ran for about 4-5 sec. and stopped.Diaphram looks fine and is very clean. The Carburator needle is set at 1 and a half out. Any comment/suggestions are greatly needed. Thanks in advance, Justin.

Justin,
I had the same kind of problem with a mower a few years ago. The guy who I got to fix it took the carb off the tank and used a large flat file to dress the carb sealing surface on the tank. It was slightly warped and sucking air. It still runs like a champ and starts the first or second pull. It's a cheap and easy fix. Hope this helps. Good Luck and God Bless,
Tommy

will not crank? will not turn the flywheel or will not start but spins the flywheel???
pull the sparkplug out, now hit the starter or pull the rope,,the top of the piston could be full of gas????? if dry put a little gas on end of plug & place plug firmly back in, try again to start. hope this helps..
