Don: My experience I had with my Bolens was the spline coupling. It made alot of noise before it stripped out the splines. I took it to a welding shop and he reversed it to the end that wasn't stripped out. I used it another year after that and wound out stripping that out. I could not get the parts that I needed. So, I cut off the end of a car's driveshaft that had the sleeve and spline on it, welded the plate onto the sleeve, drilled a hole through the spline end, and it has worked fine ever since. Probably better than the original. The driveshaft puts pressure on the hydrolic pump that works the hydrolics to your deck or other hydrolic parts. So you have to have the floating or flexibility on that shaft. If this is not your problem, try Link Lately I have not been able to call Sonny's number (260)726-2808 and when I am checking other forums they are also having trouble getting in touch with Sonny. But check the website out as there is alot of information on your tractor. The 1975 HT20 model #2087-02, engine model and type K532S-53102A or 53138A, 19.5 hp, Bolens Sundstrand Model 15.

As a fellow Bolens owner, two options stick out as being your best bet.

1) Watch eBay on a daily basis - searching for "bolens". I obtain most of my needed Bolens parts from auctions.

2) Contact Bobby Bruneau at the Bolens Boneyard. You can reach him by calling 843-889-8377. He used to be a Bolens dealer and has most any part you would need for your tractor.

Good luck!
Hans
