Bought a used Wards two stage show blower with 5HP B&S. Recoil was bad so replaced it. Now find that I have no spark. Removed the coil and cleaned the surfaces on it and the flywheel. Didn't help. Spaced the coil at .010 when I replaced it. Is that too much? Spark plug appears to be new. Should I assume the coil is bad? Suggestions would be appreciated. tks much!!

Look at the code number on the shroud. The first
two numbers are the year the engine was built. If it is 1962 or later, Briggs makes an electronic
ignition retrofit kit for this engine. It is about $15.

Don't know the age, but guessing 10-15. I'll pull the flywheel tomorrow and check the points.
Don't see anything external so they must be behind the flywheel. tks.
