The engine is a Briggs & Stratton 16HP horizontal twin. Model number 402700 Code # 0130. I still cannot get the motor to run even after putting a fuel pump repair kit in. The motor will run for a couple of seconds on the gas that i trickled into the carb. Engine doesnt seem to be getting gas. Everything in the carb seems to be clean. What else can i do. Fuel solenoid works properly.

I had a problem like yours! Thought the fuel pump was bad. Not! The ignition switch didn't make the correct connection when turned to start! If i let it go back off start a teeny bit, the engine would start and run! To check the fuel pump, disconnect the fuel line at carb, put end in coffee can, turn ignition switch to start, making engine turn over--fuel should run into coffee can! RJ

The carb is going to have a vacuum line to the crank case. Check to see if it is cracked.

Just a thought, look for a shut off in the line, discnnect the fuel line at the carbuter and catch it in a can(no fires)crank it over and see if you have fuel.I have seen plugged nipples at the tank, fuel lines that have collasped on the in side, and of course plugged filters. Good luck kjm

Be sure you do not have a plugged fuel filter or fuel line. Also check that you have not switched the fuel line with the vacuum pluse line at the carb.
