Before tinkering on the transaxle anything not mentioned in my manual I should know? My kids were out tearing around in the snow and locked her up trying to get into 4th. Engine slips the input belts no matter if transmission is in rev,1st or 2nd. can't get shifter into 3rd & 4th. Placing the transmission in rev,1st or 2nd locks the wheels. Otherwise it can still be rolled around. How do I know, it was left in the middle of the yard and had to be pushed in during a blizzard. Pre 100,000 1967 model.

be sure you dont have something lodged in the pulleys . I thought I had transmission troubles until I found a stick had gotten stuck in the pulley and locked it up. couldnt see the stick until i started to tear in to it. good luck .

Remove three screws holding shift lever tower to transmision, and use a long screwdriver or punch to line up shift rails in the neutral position. If this doesn't straighten it out, the tranny will have to come apart.
