I recently purchased a 1980 Case 448 with all the attachments except for a log splitter and read in the archives they do come with one. Wondering if anyone has one and could tell me the cylinder bore size and length, hose sizes etc. so that I might build one to attach. A picture perhaps??

I built one that works great. Used a 4" bore and 2 foot throw cylinder that I bought at Tract Supply (a national farm supply company) for about $100 new. I used a 6 foot long scrap 10" I beam as the the backbone. I welded the end plates and ram together out of scrap 1/2" steel. ALso bought quick connect cables form Tractor Supply. I have used it extensively without problem. ALl total I believe that I had one weekend of construction/welding and about $250 in parts. Let me know if you want plans.

I am interested in getting a mower deck for my 448. Anyone wanting to part with one living near South West VIrginia?
