I have a nice old Arien's garden tractor. S14G, with a peerless 4spd trans in it. To make a long story short, the trans/diff has had a noise for a long time, well it finally broke. It has a tag peerless mdl 2335, and the id #'s 6036 0368. Does anyone have a trans for sale, or is anyone familiar with how hard these are to repair? It's binding up going fwd, and has a real nasty noise.

Thats the same basic rearend that John Deere,Toro,(NOT..... Toto Wheel Horse)Gilson and many other makes used. The main difference between the different make were the axles and axle housings. The main part of the trany are the same. Not too hard to work on.Parts are still avaiable but some are expensive.Deere is the cheapest place I've found to get parts.I know that you won't hear that very often.
