old Cub Cadet engine swap?

would an engine from a model 123 hydro fit into a model 100 & if not what are the differences. thanks for your time.

The only difference is the 12 HP will have a deep oil pan and the 123 tank cradle is for a 1.75 gallon fuel tank. Everything else is the same,bolts right in. While you have the engine out, check the frame for stress fracture by the bolt holes and replace the front axle pivot pin with a bolt and lock nut. You may have to cut half of the head off the bolt to clear the oil pan but it will tighten up the steering alot.

Simple job of unbolting one and bolting the other in - everything should be same.
