Looking for parts. Ignition key switch three prong, Voltage regulator. After that I will put this tractor up for sale if it is up to snuff. How much does this unit go for in decent shape with a plow and mower?

good little tractors, weak on power on a 60" deck, unless they have the creeper gear in them. If you have tranny trouble with them certain parts are no longer available, we had to have some of the creeper gear parts made, it wore out and would not shift, had to get gears made. If in good shape 1000.00-1500.00.

The best part of the 154 series was the engine. Great runner, long lived. The short coming was the belt driven PTO. We tried using them when I lived in Florida for mowing and the PTO was what failed first. Of course, we wanted them to mow 8 hours a day, every day and they were just not built for that. Great homeowner machine. Probably go in the 1000 buck range in good shape, at least from what I have seen in N. GA.

I have seen from $1000 to $3500 range. I got mine and had to put in new wiring, tires, ignition, and many other odd and ends. You are right it runs awesome, but the pto was shot. All it needed was new plates though. The biggest pain is the PTO belts under the hood. You have to move the friggin engine foreward to replace them. I am going to try some new universal put together belts that say they are every bit as good as conventional belts. I found them at grainger.com. I also had to make new spindles on the mower deck.. I omitted the grease fitting on occount of they break at the grease channel.

I have seen the 184s go that high but no 154s, I guess it just depends on demand. I have used those put together belts and in my opinion they are best suited as an emergency use item to get you home so you can put on a regular belt. I have had better luck with them on small electric motors like on a planer or small table saw. But you can always try them. The red ones seem to last longer than the green ones. I can't remember the brand names right now.
