Blew the motor on my JD110. Anyone have a replacement motor near Lexington, KY?

Or what can I replace it with other than the original Kohler 8hp?

Should I use this "opportunity" to up it to a 10 or 12hp motor?

Thanks in advance,

Wild

I would take it apart and see what is damaged. Have the crank turned and put in a new rod, piston and rings. These are collectable tractors worth restoring.

Yes threw a rod I guess. Last couple of times that I have mowed it had started losing power going up hills. If I would move the speed control back the rpms would go back up. This last time I got maybe 20' and it started losing power, I disengaged the blades, rpms shot back up, followed by a "Boom!....Ping, Ping, Ping" (How is THAT for technicle information?) She just spins now.... Thanks for all of the info..don't know what I should do. Any body need a parts buggy?

If you want to update it, you will have to get it from a newer 110 or 112 because they have a special flywheel and blower housing to fit the frame cutout. You will also need to convert from a starter/generator to the alternater set up.

Put a 502 Chevy in it!

Just kidding!

See www.northerntool.com. UPS brings them right to your house. Hint: Buy a Honda or B&S.
