Hi.I have just got a used tractor lawnmower. It needed some engine work, and that's sorted now.Repairing the engine was no trouble as all I had to do was go to the Briggs and Stratton website and enter the engine details to get my exact model engine. My problem is that there is no manufacturers details on the mower itself apart from under the drivers seat. Also the owners manual is not available.

All it says under the seat is it's American Yard Products,MFG no AYF1236A. It's a 12hp briggs and stratton,36 inch cut.I would like to buy a grass catcher for it,but can't find anything certain anywhere on the mower.I know it could be a Craftsman, Husqvarna, Sears, Roper or something, but I need to know what exactly I own before I go buying a grass catcher for it.There's 12/36 written on the bonnet, but apart from that the details under the seat are the ONLY other details on the tractor.
Please could you help me find out what I have exactly so that I would buy an incorrect grass catcher for it.
Thank's in advance
Gerry.

Sounds like a good number. I would go with that one. Might do a search for outdoor distributors.com
They have AYP listings for parts manuals and such.
If ya cant get a catcher, just get a sweeper.
