Since I cant figure out why I get just a click under the dash when I try to start the 1450 Cub Cadet, I wanted to see how everthing worked. I jumped the starter (pos bat. terminal to pos starter terminal) and everything ran fine for a few minutes. Tried the PTO Clutch and it worked then just shut off. Then the engine sputtered and quit. Now it wont start at all. I get spark but there isnt any "click" when I turn the ignition switch. What did I do now?

If you are going to throw it away, throw it my way as I can easily fix. Do not give up on this 1450. It will be running when the MTD/CC of today are long forgot about.

Go here for the Wiring Schematic for your Cub. This well help you tracing down your problem. Your Brother-In-Law should be able to see through this:

Two questions here:
(A) Are you electrically knowledgable??... meaning to be able to trace down electrical circuits, and (B) Do you have a VOM meter....???

Not as knowledgable as I would like to be, but I was going to ask my brother in Law (Electrician) to give me a hand tomorrow.

That tractor is too good to give up on! When you find the poor connection, it will be such a simple little problem it will amaze you!
