I have a MF 7 but I don't know how to find out the year of it. The serial # is 1590228718. If anybody had any information on it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tim Doiron

Thanks for figuring out the year of it. Are these by any means rare, I wouldn't think that they are. Thanks Tim Doiron

Hi saw your message but haven't been able to find anything on the net myself as far as this info .I own a MF 7 and know it was made in 1971 as my aunt and uncle bought it brand new .They used it for many years then gave it to there son my cousin .He used it awhile til his house burned to the ground .The poor of MF 7 was close enough that one back wheel and front wheel caught on fire .Also melted the steering wheel and dash .Was lucky enough a few years ago to find another MF 7 that was minus engine .Used the parts from it to rebuild the burnt MF

Told my uncle after i got it going again that i had there old mower and it was back to running again .He was more then suprised at that !!!
Great tractor it will mow as good as the 123 Cub cadet that i have also .Will look around the net again and see if i can find somewhere that has the info your looking for .Mine also will scalp small hils in the yard also seems to be a common problem as to the way the decks are made .
Always on the look out in my area for more MF tractors as this one needs company :)

Again with the questions in reply to Tim Doiron, 09-04-2004 17:35:40
Sorry, I meant to ask you. Tell us (me) about your MF 7. What engine does it have? The MF 10 I have is one of the best built tractors ever. I also have a AMF 1010 that is the exact twin of the MF 10 in excellent condition. It's a 72 that I bought from the original owners son. Also a fine tractor way better than anything you can buy today, without spending 10K.
Good luck on your tractor,
David

My MF 7 has a 8hp Briggs but it should have a 7hp Tecumseh. I'm the 3rd owner. I bought it off a small engine repair shop. He told me that the person sold it to him because it didn't have electric start. It should of had electric start but when they put the 8hp in, it didn't have electric start. It has a 3 spd transaxle and 1 spd reverse. It is one of the best tractors for doing edging. It turns so sharp. The only problem with it is the deck cuts off hills before the back roller lifts the deck up. It is in good shape compared to the other ones that I see. It is not a show tractor, it's a work tractor. It has scratches on it but no rust anywhere. I don't have any attachments for it (plow, snowblower etc.). Well I hope that is enough information on it. From what I know it was built between 1965 - 1975. Any info would be good, Thanks Tim Doiron

My 1998 Hot Line Equipment Guide has serial no. lists for some MF-10 and larger tractors. If you give your serial no. I may be able to give you year made.
