The Axel on my AYP (Craftsman) became dislodged and now the tranaxel spins without engaging the wheel. Is there a trick to re-engaging the axel or do you merely tighten the collar bolts where the spindle enters the transaxel.

Take out transmission, disassemble, put the snap ring back on the end of the axle, and you should be good to go. At least that is how most of the work.
