That is, converting my 112L (Hydro) to a 112L GEAR DRIVE!! Found a "donor" 111 (for 50 bucks) with gear drive, took out the old hydro and bolted the transaxle right in! Having problems finding the right lenght main drive belt, but once that's done, she should be fine!! The original 112L gas tank even fits....Thanks for all the help...Cmore

Sounds like it went together without a hitch, may I ask why you went with the gears instead of the hyro? Thanks, John

Having quite a time finding the right belt though. The original 111 has a smaller pulley on engine than the Kawasakwi in the 112L...and the 111 has a bigger pulley on the transaxle....might wind up with a 90 mph John Deere!! A regular 111 or 112L belt wont work...Cmore

Because I never did like the Hydro...and last few years it was slipping...wouldn't pull the hat off your head. And, didn't have a clutch on the left...ran over rose bushes and into trees the first few times I drove it..but, it lasted 20 years, so guess I cant complain. I think the gear drive conversion should last me out....Cmore
