I have a 1967 Power King 1612 with chains (12 h.p. kohler) and was wondering if it can handle a 6" plow blade. I know it depends on how much snow and how often I plow. I"m in the north east and alot of times we just get 4-6 inches so I don"t want to do multiple, multiple passes with a 42" blade. Any thoughts? Thanks

I have a older D - 200 Wheel Horse with a four foot blade on a three point hitch with chains & after the first snow it is not worth much as the snow is just too heavy & icy up here in Wisconsin. I have since purchased a good John Deere 112 with a blower & that, really does the job of clearing the yard. I would highly recommend a blower instead of the blade especially in heavier show conditions.

54 to 60 inch would be about all that is practical in any snow deep enough to need plowing.

A 6 foot blade is way too big,if you get wet snow all you will do is spin.
