My Grandpa bought a John Deere 110 new in '69 or '70. The tractor is the standard issue green and yellow but the mower deck is white. I have a feeling this is just one that might have been left over from their patio color line and it was installed and sent out the door. I didn't know if this was common or not. I've never seen another white deck on a green tractor.

My guess is the same as yours or it is possible that the tractor is a Patio that was painted Green and yellow due to poor sales of the patio series. If you ever get a chance look under the battery tray for white on the main frame of the tractor. That might help you know. Also check out Weekend Freedom Machines website. The guys over there can help you out.

if it's a 69 they did not designate between the reg and patio's,if 70 the serial number will tell you .i also would look around on it for white paint i have seen 3-4 of them that were painted green because they really didn't sell to good,(if a guy only would have known)also check the back of the seat, the patios use a crinkle finish on them the regulars are smooth.

Your assumption is correct. I have a green 140 bought new with a white deck, and white tiller.

Bob and Conner - You might want to check under that green paint to see if you don't own a repainted patio tractor. You may even discover you have a patio hood that has green paint over the original blue, red, orange, or yellow. I have seen several "green" patio hoods, repleat with the original black patio decals.... Gadget
