I have a S-16 and have had a few minor troubles with it. I love the tractor though it is a very strong tractor. I have the mower, blower, and blade for it. I got a parts manual to help locate parts it is for the S-12 through S-16 with all the attachments, New Holland part ## 05001292. I got it from a New Holland Dealer for about $30 brand new.

We also have a S14 and are wondering if you've had any luck. We are looking for repairs for the tiller at this point.

The New Holland S-12 and S-14 preceeded the Ariens tractors. New Holland at the time was developing a line of lawn and garden and leisure products. After 2-3 years in the early 70's, New holland sold the line to Ariens. The two tractor lines are similar but have some major differences. At the time, New Holland was owned by the Sperry Corporation and used a Sperry-Vickers hydrostatic transmission. After the tractors became Ariens, a different transmission was used. The fender were changed from fibreglas to steel and so was the hood. The steering was changed from tilt to fixed and the steering gearbox was also changed. Both were ahead of their time and would be good for general use. I had both a S-12 and a S-14 that I had sold when new and re-purchased later.

I also have a New Holland S-14 that I finally gave up on for a couple or reasons:
1. It kept blowing the front seal in the tramsmission.
2. I blew the cup seals in the hydralic control. I tried every hydralic shop within a 50 mile radius, and no one has them.
An unrelated note. My original drive shaft was one piece, and broke from vibration. They replaced it with a two piece, connected by a leather universal joint.

Ariens did build that tractor for Ford/NH, I am a dealer for Ariens, so if I can help you on naything, give me a shout. Most all the parts for this tractor should still be available from Ariens.

I've got a couple of these in the "yard" . Let me know what you need exactly. The New Hollands are basically the same- some minor differences but most any parts will interchange . They were built by Ariens for New Holland contrary to popular believe that Ariens bought N.H. out.

Hi Carl, There was just a s14 tractor on ebay it was being sold as a parts ractor. You might want to check that out. There are some very knolageable guts on the ariens power equipment club on yaho groups. You might want to go there and join the group. Wellm the two tractors are the same except the color and a tlt wheel. Lou
