My connecting rod broke and the intake valve also was bend. I replaced both and ended up with 25 lbs of compression. I repositioned the rings and still ended up with 25 lbs of compression. Should I replace the rings and hone the cyclinder wall or do you have any other suggestions. Thanks, AL in Conn.

Looking for diagram or something similar to show correct linkage hookups for throttle to carburator ect. Have 1973 Ariens riding mower, engine # vm80-150040A

you may have a carb that has a needle in your main jet intake.shake your carb holding float ,LISTEN FOR A SMALL RATTLE IN SHAFT WEAR FLOAT BOAL SCREWS ON.THIS IS FOR YOUR SLOW IDLE SPEED.
