I have gas mixed with my oil and I think it caused my valve to get stuck. How can I stop gas from mixing with my oil and how can I get valve unstuck. I tried taking manifold offf and oiling valve but that did not work. I also changed my oil and checked my float but float seems to be ok. I need help!

Hi. Have a friend that has a carburetor problem on a 14.5 hp Briggs.

He says that it will run, and then stop. Then it might not start, or it might start on the next try.

He also says while this is going on, lots of white smoke is coming out.

I tried to tell him how to get his float bowl off to check for stuck float, but have no idea what his carburetor looks like.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Jack Schrader

The wire from the switch should actually ground the coil out when you turn off the key. Therefore there should be no power to it. Unhook the small wire from the coil (this is actually to ground the coil and prevent spark) and try cranking the engine. If you have spark you are having an issue with your wiring or key switch. If you have no spark it's most certainly a coil. (Note that if you have points and condensor they may also be the culprit)

Right after I started selling some of the items I had listed... the rear end went out on the Exploder ($1200). So I drove the GMC 4x4 to work a couple days. Tranny slipping. Got the Exploder out and now the GMC is in... 3qts low on fluid. Seals leaking fluid into the transfer case and out the front... :-( Gadget
