Have a question-is the John Deere 111 a collectible garden tractor or is it just a lawn tractor only. Don't find out much about it on the JD Forum. Thanks, Jack

Anything is collectable if you keep it in good shape and it gets old! Of course its easier to find one that somebody else kept nice for you!

All kidding aside my father-n-law had a 20 year old agway, new in crate, from a store he owned years ago. It went for $3000 at an auction. Still had all the paperwork and such in with it. Since there are no more new Agway tractors, the older ones have become somewhat collectable. Especially before they were MTD junk. You just never know!

I've got one for parts if anyone wants it. The deck is a rare find, almost perfect. No motor.

It's just a lawn mower. Not much in way of value or collectable compared to older JD's and most people don't believe 11hp is enough to mow grass so...

There is a website dedicated to JD garden tractors and lawn tractors. They just recently made the 111 an on topic subject. You can find them by doing a search on weekend freedom machines, or by putting those three words together and putting a dot org on the end for the url.

I don't think it is in the class as the other JD's but I have one and love it. It is one of the nicest driving and mowing tractors there is. Very simple to upkeep, quick steering and light. Mine has a 11 hp Briggs vertical that is bullet proof. I'd highly recommend it. It sits nice.

Thanks guys for the input-haven't found it on weekend freedom machines-had looked there before. Can you tell me where to start to find it. Doesn't seem to show up in the regular tractor lineup. Jack

It is the third forum from the top, John Deere Lawn Tractor and Late Model Garden Tractor forum. They added the forum about a month ago.
