Does anyone here remember the Atlas riding mowers or who manufactured them?

Thanks, Jay

Considering Atlas tools were the mid level economy brand of Sears in the forties and fifties into the sixties, I would think Sears would have had the rights to that branding, and would have been the big retailer handling them.

John,

I just checked out the Model & Serial number tag on the back of the mower....and you are correct.

It was manufactured by Atlas Tool & Mfg. Co.

But, I'd be amazed that Sears would have sold the competition as well as their own riders back then.

Thanks, Jay

a RESELLER,nothing more.Sears itself MAKES nothing except profit. They sell products made by actual mfgs and "branded" as Sears,Craftsman etc.Over the years for instance"Craftsmen" Mowers have neen made by MTD,Noma,Air Cap,Murray,AYP,Roper,David Bradley,Haban,Gilson, etc and ALL wore the Craftsman name.Only a very few of Sears' offerings in any dept, are unique and built ONLY for Sears. Most everything can be found in other places under the Mfgs name or another "Brand".

John,

I'm not familiar with Atlas tools, and not sure there is an affiliation with Sears. They were probably too busy with their own Craftsman and Suburan riders.

Thanks, Jay
