I have a 1250 Cub Cadet with a vibration that seems to get worse as the motor warms up.I have replaced the shaft and joints to rear end as they were bad,new motor mounts, new plug and cond. Starts good, just that it gets to shaking so bad as it warms up and at higher rpm that I don't dare to use it.Whats wrong??? Thanks for any help.

when you installed the new mounts did you tighten them allthe way if so loosen them up just enough that you can turn the bolts by hand. I work at Cub Cadet dealer ship at we'eve found that if you tighten 'em all the way the engine vibrates badly Good Luck David

you didnt say if something failed or not befor it started shaking,,,,but,i would try to isolate the problem. by taking the driveshaft off and running it to see if it helps, then maybe take off the pto clutch and see if that helps .if it shakes with these items off ,then its time to pull the engine and start taking it apart looking for the problem,,, could be broken fin on flywheel, balance gear problem or some brg problem inside the engine.lucass

just a thought.could the crankshaft or engine pulley be slightly bent due to running over some object causing the blades to either lockup or stop.just a thought.

The new ISO mounts from Cub cadet are a lot harder than the old ones. Loosen them up so only a few threads show, that usually smooths them out. Kenny

Lucasss, Just bought tractor at an auction sale, didn't notice any vibration but only let it run for about a minute at idle. Fins are all fine, will try disconecting to see if that helps. Can the electric clutch be out of balance? Also,What do you mean by the balance gear and where is that? Thanks

Balance gears are inside the engine. If it were mine and I had to tear into the engine, the balance gears would be in the metal pile, I do not see any worse vibration without, but when bearings go out, they are rough runnng little monsters.

Tractor starts good, doesn't smoke, doesn't knock, wouldn't it knock if bearings were bad? It seems the more you warm the tractor up the worse it gets.

Yessir, it would have a sound like a rod knocking if the balance gears were out of it. this is gonna sound out in left field, but check your timing and if points are not good, replace them, condensor and push rod. then put together and set timing. If it were out of time a little it could cause some problems that could cause vibration, kind of like spark knock in the old cars if they were out of time. Just a thought.
