I have just acquired a "Bush Hog" brand, 60 inch finishing mower model 2001. This is the 3-point hitch type deck. This deck is probably 20 years old or older.
I cannot locate a manual for this deck and the local vendor says that he has no information on it. This deck uses two v-belts. Can anyone tell me what the installation arrangement for these belts should be?

I first thought all those finish mowers were the same. Then I went to the Bush Hog site and saw that some are single belt, some are shaft drive. I guess I got lucky -- the belts haven't broken on my finish mower yet. Its a Taylor-Pittsburg, 72" cut - uses, like yours, two belts -- one to the left and one to the right of the central drive belt, but in my case also looping around the central spindle. Two loops tightened by moving the main drive spindle. Both the main drive spindle and the front center spindle have two pulleys. One belt connects the main drive, center spindle and either left or right spindle. May have done too much rambling here. If this is like your system, hope it helps.

Thanks Dale. With your information and half the neighborhood looking on we have successfully installed the belts on this mower.
One thing, I sure wish I could find the Bush Hog site you refer to. I have searched and searched for a BH site that had descriptions of their machinery without success.
