The used John Deere rider I got late last summer won"t even grrrr. Battery charger hooked up and indicated full charge. I sat on the seat - to satisfy OSHA (not a small town in Northern Wisconsin) and nothing happens, except me getting frustrated. What"s up doc? Thanks in advance for any help.

Had the same problem. It turned out to be the positive battery cable.

Al: Check and double check the connections, does it have the small inline fuse? May be there is another OSHA swx that has gone defective. Battery reading can fool you sometimes also.

Thanks for the replies. I put charger on again just before heading to work on my IH 240U. Like a dummy, I didn"t have the park brake on when I tried it again. Met OSHA regulations and put it on boost a couple times, then, ^^^*** the sparks really flew from under the right fender. Will have to go down after supper and see what I did. Clueless at this point.

Make sure it is in neutral and the PTO switch is off...I have my Mom's STX38 out in the shed on it's deathbed. Had to give her my 25 year old Wheel Horse tractor to mow with and she wants to keep it! lol!
