Hello,

I hope this is apropriate for this forum, this is my first visit. My 1541 Cub Cadet dies after it gets hot. Must be electrical, it doesn't even think about it just instant off. And it won't restart until it cools down. I guess there is a thermal protection circuit which is defective. I don't have a service manual. Any sugestions would be appreciated, I am going to try to get a service manual.

I had the same problem and someone on line told me to put some marvel mystery oil in with gas, Ialso added some in with the oil and it runs better. They explained to me that I had sticky valves which caused the engine to overheat and shut down. DMF

Bill, I dont know if you found the problem yet but I am having a similar problem with my 1541. It runs fine until I shut it off. It will not restart until it cools down thoroughly. During the time it wont restart, there is no spark!!! Please let me know how you made out.

Thanks, Dave

Could also possibly be a sticking valve. When it warms up...it sticks and whenever it cools down the valve will free up.
