Has anyone else had trouble with the strength of the lower crankshaft on this type of lawnmower, or any other lawnmower with the Briggs N Stratten Intek Pro 6.75 HP engine?
I bought the mower new, and have broken the crank off once, and according to the dealer, it's now bent again. First time hits some roots but didn't stall the mower, it just broke the crank, and the second time, didn't hit anything, just cutting some really thick grass, and stalling with heavy grass cuttings, and developing a bad vibration.

Well, if yer engine has the long crankshaft in it, you"re going to have to be more careful about how and where you mow!! Those shafts do bend quite easily. I have 2 curbside pickups that each have the same problem, but not Inteks, just long shafts. I suppose they will become parts mowers. A shame--both nearly new! And then, you have the other problem--one guy told me he has a BIG rock in his yard, and he"s hit it every time he mows! Geez, you"d think he"d remember where it is! So, if you get this problem resolved, o.k., but if not--next time look underneath the deck to see if it has a short shaft! If so, buy it! If it has a long shaft--look for something else! And--keep yer eyes peeled for obstructions in the grass! by: Rustyj
