I have a 1968 Gilson Brothers (PACER) 9HP rear engine briggs model number 40-100-01 serial number 117183 with roto tiller attachment. Is this an unpopular tractor with clubs?

Gilson Brothers was bought out by lawnboy in late
1980's,which now makes it hard to buy parts or no
parts at all.I have a Gilson Brothers rotto tiller from 1985 and can not buy parts for it. Most clubs are looking for tractors a little older than 1968? I have tractors mostly from the 1950's karl brandt

I resently purchased a Gilson Bro's lawn and garden tractor. It's a model 53055 467791 s-twin 18 hp. It has a electirc P.T.O. clucth, hydrualic lift on the attachments, Hydrostatic transaxle, 48 inch lawn deck, 48" snow auger. When I first got it from a local tractor dealer used. It was in sad shape. I am a industerial mechanic and I used my work contacts to track down parts. I was able to find out Gilson is now owned by Toro. Toro still carries alot of the parts for Gilson tractors and attachments. In fact I had no problem at all getting all the parts to repair and obtaining parts breakdowns from Toro. If anyone has a latter model gilson or early model try contacting Toro.

Or if anyone needs repairs done on Gilson tractors in WI please contact me. The parts are genuie Gilson and my labor rate is open depending on type of repair. IF anyone is interested in purchasing my fully restoried Late Model Gilson tractor. I'll be glade to send photos and complete details.

Contact me at andway@aol.com

I have a Gilson Brothers rotary hoe which is in need of a new gear box. I have just pulled the gear box apart because it began slipping very badly and I found that many parts are badly warn.
The details are as follows
Model 511054509
Serial number 8215F1 722
It is powered by a small Briggs and Sratten four stroke motor.
Is it possible to source parts????? ?
Any information will be appreciated
Regards
Ian Todd

For those of you that own a Gilson Lawn Tractor, there is a Gilson Tractor Club in Yahoo's Club section. If you want information and assistance from others that own Gilson's, this is the place to go Link

There>Link is a message area, photo gallery, a chat area and more.

See you there!
