Saw a later model speedex at swapmeet. 70's maybe. Didn't know they were around that long. NOW, I found a site for them on web, but not much for pictures. I was wondering what they were really like. Any weird quirks? The drive is belt on gear one, only 3spd, and chains to axle I guess. Trouble with that? The hydro would be more my interest. I have a Power King, and the one I saw was similar to it and in size. Kinda got my interest up, but I don't need more "junk" that you can't fix around the house.

If you are looking for a work tractor, Speedex is a good choice. Ravenna Speedexes are kind of homemade, built for hard work. No stampings, castings, etc. Hard to break, some parts are still available or obtainable used. Many parts are not too hard to fabricate. Everything is out in the open and easy to figure out. Practically any horizontal shaft engine can be adapted. Not for kids No mmodern safety features.
