As a Simplicity dealer and a 4211 owner, let me assure you that this unit was not built by Allis Chalmers. This is a Port Washington, Wisconsin machine. The 4211 was built from 1980 to 1986. The only way to be specific is to have the original engine code. Steve

Should be around 1986 for the year. It came with a 11 hp Briggs engine,Mfg #1690843 or 1690909 For the 11 hp 36" mower mfg # is 1690838, My 11 hp had points in it I have since upgraded to a 13hp. I have a full manual for these machines Let me know if I can help

Sparkplug any of the following: J-8, RJ-8, CJ-8,J-17LM,J-19LM, RJ-17LM, RJ-19LM Champion plugs. And to the Champion haters out there this is all I ever use and have never had a problem.

Should have an 11hp Briggs in it. If it does still have points, it would surprise me, most of them have solid state ignition. If it does have points, they will be under flywheel. Part number 391284 for points 29861 for condensor. The model on engine could be a 251707 or a 252707.
