Re: ATV Finish Mower Quality???? in reply to Josh, 04-25-2002 13:08:50
I have an older Swisher, back when they were a 40" cut, no anti-scalp wheels, no side wheels, and it does a great job. The only thing that it did, and believe they now have fixed that problem, was when the grass was high, it would leave a line of cut grass, sort of like a windrow. I just recut that on the next pass. I set mine on the discharge side of my WH 48" cut deck and either worked from the middle going out on long, straight yards, or "squared" the yard if it was a big square yard. I really like it. It cut my mowing time in half. They are handy if you want to get done quick or have large open areas. The cut quality of my old one is very good.

Re: Which garden tractor to buy? in reply to Ken, 03-31-2002 15:16:30
I purchased a new MTD 18hp garden tractor w/46" deck in 1996. I also purchased the 2-stage snowblower attachment. I've been mowing our 7 acres (flat ground and woods)and blowing snow with it ever since without a problem. (Unless you want to count replacing the battery last year!)

Signed: A happy MTD owner. :)

Dear sir, I have a 38" cut riding lawn mower. The problem is, when I try to engage the blade, the engine dies. I have put wd40 on the pullies and the blades. Please let me know what the problem is if you know. Thanks, Keith

to keith,
It may be a carborator problem, but a simple fix.
I had the same problem and fixed it by increasing the octane, I switched to unleaded supreme, and also used a carborator cleaner in the gas tank. as well as spraying a carorator cleaner into my carborator, and changing the fuel filter.

good luck

I have a Crafsman 15 h.p. riding lawnmower. I can not get it to pull. I think the problem is in the rear-end. Won't go in forward or reverse. It has a pull-pin for hand pushing and you have to push the pin back in to ride it. Can anyone help??

You can call Sears @ 800-FONPART (366-7278)and give them your mower model no. They'll look
up the part and you can order it from them.

Be warned - they're not cheap!
