After you get the old pipe out, it's nice to "touch up" the threads. I was lucky enuf to pick up a few pipe taps at a garage sale (up to 1-1/4" size) for 50 cents apiece for this purpose. I like to use a generous amount of "Neversieze" on the threads when I put it back together. Brian G. NY (also a proud Allis WD owner)

I agee with Phill, but first I would run the engine to heat the pipe, shut her down and try the pipe wrench. If no success, cut it off flush and follow Phill's advice, heading Wild cat's warning
Good luck

forgot to mention that the pipe is galvinzed steel about 8 inches long. could the pipe be heated with a cutting torch with out hurting the engine block? and then screwed out while it is still red hot?

alliswd, it's easy, just make several hacksaw cuts about 1/8" a part 1/4 the way around the inside of the pipe, punch it in and pick it out. That's it, very easy.
