I just took apart a Wisconsin 10HP model number TR-10D to get it unstuck after it locked up after running it for about five minuetes. I ran it yesterday when it locked up. and today took it apart and smoothed the rod and cap that had been fused togther from heat and then scored from goin back and forth. I then put it all back together and tryed to start using a belt hooked to another motor ( B&S 2hp). It wouldn't run so i took the plug out and did a spark test. Nothing happened!!!! i tryed several deffirent good plugs and i couln't get spark. What went wrong. I didn't mess with the electriacal system at all. It ran just yesterday. what went wrong. If any body has any ideas please let me know. Thanks alot!

I do not want to discourage you, but Wisconsin parts are EXPENSIVE. I bought a 8 hp at an auction. The dipper on the rod was broke offf and the engine had not been oiling right. It had a MAJOR cylinder taper. I could buy a new 8 hp B&S engine cheaper than repairing the old Wisconsin. Parts are also hard to find. If I remenber right the oversized piston I need when the block was bore was going to cost over $200.00.

Stephen,
Check your points make sure they are not corroded. Might check flywheel key, but they normally shear when you have a sudden stop the the engine. Check that and let me know where you are at.

Im pretty sure, almost positive that the crank key didn't break. went it locked up it didn't suddenly stop. It slowly idled down like it should i shut it off. Then i went to pull it again and it was stuck. I fixed the problem and know she turns over freely. I will go out and take the flywhee off and see what happened and let you guys know what i discovered. Thanks for the help, I greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU

DID YOU CHECK CRANK KEY, MAY HAVE SHEARED WHEN LOCKED DOWN (SUDDEN STOP WILL DO THAT). MY LAWN MOWER DOES THAT WHEN I HIT STUMPS. THANKS
