I have a Briggs model 252707, 0228-01, code 81100711 that I would like to get the shell type bearings for the syncro balancer. Briggs says I need to get the whole balancer assembly for $94.00. I am wondering if any one in the aftermarket supplies these? My eccentrics on the crankshaft are good. Thanks.

What you are looking for is NOT available from B&S. They are not available any where I know of. At one time I was going to measure the I.D. and O.D. of the bearing shells and see if I could find maybe a camshaft bearing from an automotive engine that would work, but I never did.

Now there is an idea. Might check out the cam brg. deal. More monkey business. I believe Briggs says up to .011 clearance is ok . Do you know what optimum would be or minimum clearance? Right now I am at 4 and 1/2 thousands.

If B&S says .011 inch is ok and you have .0045 inch, I would put the engine back together and not worry about it. If you find any cam bearings that would work let me know. Kent
