I just might have one. I will look over weekend. You can get a GOOD machine shop to bore your connecting rod out and fit a rod bearing from a Continental engine that was used in the Massey Harris Pony and Allis Chalmers G. It is made up to a .030 undersize. Then have your crankshaft resized to whatever it will clean up at. I have done a few at .020 and they are holding up.

Saw complete shortblock for sale either on ebay or weekend freedom machines(website for jd garden tractors) May purchase new one cheaper than shipping due to weight of cast iron engine. Good Luck. jason

Ask a good machine shop if the can grind your crank, then put an insrt in your old rod. This is something a company about 60 miles south of here has been doing with good luck. Cost about $100.00 last I know, about the same as getting a crank turned and a new rod. I think they have been using Renault bearing numbers to do this. I can ask a buddy of mine what they did to his if youwant me to. Just post back and let me know

OK, what is the engine going in? What size is the PTO end (1", 1 1/8", tapered) and length. Most older Cub Cadets are like 2 3/4" length, tractors with electic PTO are about an inch longer. Gravely uses a completely different PTO end as does Ingersol Case.

Any good automotive machine shop should be able to weld up the rod throw and grind the throw back to standard.
