1250 hydro drain plug rearend/trans

im getting ready to change the trans oil in my 1978 cub hydro trans / rearend where is the correct place to drain it i didnt actually see a drain plug so i drained it at the steel line thatconnects to the very bottom running back up to the filter area thanks RICK

Well, I will have to say, that wasn't one of IH's better thoughts, BUT the way to get the Hydro Oil changed, is by removing the rear end cover and letting it drain in a large (3 gal) container.

If you do this, that will give you the opportunity to get all the residue & gunk out of the rear end. Clean the rear end real good with any good solvent, then blow out real good with air.

You will need:
(1) IH-350837-R2 Gasket
(1) 923-3014 Filter
(14 PT) 737-3025 CC Hydraulic Trans Fluid or IH-139029-A2 HyTran Hydraulic Oil

It is less expensive to buy the HyTran buy the Gallon as opposed to the individual quarts.
