when I run the starter it will fire and kick the engin backwards but once it is running it runs good, there is no points on it the mag is .015 air gap the carb has been all redone, why dose it kick backwards and about tare the starter out of it?

I checked the fly wheel key an it is ok

How about the valve settings... not sure about this engine, but on some small engines, valves gapped too wide will affect compression release for starting, and engine will "kick".
