Can anyone out there give me an idea of my problem with a 125 cub cadet with hydrostatic drive?
I have had this tractor for about a year and it has run fine, but after leaving it unused for several weeks I started it up and the drive won't work. Can't see anything wrong so i drained and changed hydro trans fluid and filter but that did nothing. I've had a cadet 122 with gear drive for about 10 years with no drive problems but i don't understand this hydrostatic. Can someone please help me? Is there an adjustment somewhere that i can't seem to find? If something has gone bad, what would it probably be, and what would I look for?
If anyone can give me advice, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Ty Harden

There are 2 relief valves on top of the hydro charge pump. They have pins protruding from them. Make sure the pins are not depressed and are protruding out. If they are in, the oil is being dumped internally, thus no drive. Check the drive shaft for broken roll pins too.

If either of the pins in the hex head valves on top of the transmission are sticking in,as Kenneth said, depressed,(rust etc) you will need to replace them,( not cheap, about $60.-$70.each) The new replacement valves don't have the pins.

Try this

Remove the sheetmetal from the back of the cc.

Spray the two buttons with WD-40, Liquid Wrench or other penetrating oil.

Let sit, spray again, let sit.

With a long punch, tap the base where the puttons come out from.

With some luck when you start the cc they'll pop back up and you and ready to drive away.

Never Never use the transmission relese lever as this problem will occur again.

Good Luck.

Also, how do the new style valves wirk with out the buttons. Can you use the transmission release?.
