Hey guys and gals,
Need a little help. I have a couple of old riding mowers that I have no clue what make they are. I can"t find a plate anywhere on either one of them.
The are small in size, gas tank is red on top with a white body. The entire frame is red with the exception of the tank sides and front. Has two little cone nuts on the front that makes it look like eyes looking at ya. It is of frame type consruction witha fixed mower deck being part of it. Looks to be about 30 inches. It is single wheel front drive, where you have to turn the wheel all the way around to go backward.
The motor is solid white, one with a crank on top, the other with electric start button below the seat frame.
You engage the front wheel by a lever on the steering wheel and the blades by one down next to your leg.
Maybe this will strike an idea with someone. Don"t have any pictures yet.
Thanks

Yep,Swisher Ride Kings or Big Mows.Believe the single speed was the Big Mow and the 2 speed the Ride King or vise-versa.Been around since the late 50s,updated version still being made a couple yrs back.Swisher Mower and Machine Co,same as makes the trailer mowers and ATV implements etc,and have a good web page.Parts support still maintained for what you have. One of the simplest, toughest, funnest lil mowers you'll ever use.No tranny/clutch etc, everything is done w/belt tighteners....Oh yeah,IF you have a doubleball knob on the right below the dash, thats your 2spd,1 knob up is hi,1/2 twist to other knob up is low.I retired a 1968 a couple yrs back, only because of metal fatique(it kept cracking(frame, deck, etc)).Love them lil beasties!

Thank's guys, that was it. Went to the Swisher site and downloaded the manual. Have had these two since I was a kid and the grandparents place and used to ride on them.
They are awful small for mowing the 5 acre yard but they are just sittin there and I thought it might be fun to bring them back to life.
I believe one of them still ran good before it was parked several years ago.
Thanks again for the help.

Ray is correct!

Without a doubt it is a Swisher Ride King.

Sounds like a Swisher.
