I've found, if you don't have the schematic or the book, and the old belt is still on the machine, it is best to jack it up, set it on something steady, remove the deck, then lay down with a paper pad and pencil, and sketch out how the old belt is routed! Believe me, when it comes time to install the new one, you can end up with too much belt! (Theoretically) And, as you lay there cussing yerself for not making the sketch, you'll try all combinations of routing of the belt, until after many tries, you'll finally get it right! don't ask me how i know!! I am assuming you know to write down all numbers on the machine, when you go to buy the belt! These numbers are usually on a paper sticker under the seat, or someplace nearby, or even under the hood! Well, good luck. hope it doesn't turn into a fiasco. Most belts are fairly easy once you lay down and look at them. You may have to remove a rod, lever, or something in the way! the designers don't make things easy! Lastly, buy the belt at the dealer's store, or a lawn mower parts place, don't just go down to wally world and buy some cheapy belt--you'll regret it, as you lay under the machine, replacing the cheapy belt sooner than later!
