the bantam tractors were made in 50s by standard mgf. company. located in Indiana. They made three sizes. a 3hp. 5hp. and a 8hp. the one that you have is a 5hp. The 8 horsepower is the hardest to find. They did make some of the bantams with two wheels one the front.

The front wheel on this one was single. The first owner altered it because he said it made it more stable. Thanks for the information.

I can't help ya...but DARN!, That's a cute li'l thing!

Try scouring Ebay- type Bantam tractor in the search box, and you might even come up with a manual- or at least people who are selling the same tractor or parts, and yoiu could contact them, and maybe get someone who is knowledgeable about them.

Most of the searching I have done comes up blank or ends up on this forum with links etc that are 9 or 10 years old. I talked to my friend today and he said the engine started right up on the first pull after they put some fresh gas in it. They had to put a carb kit in it. He has the mower deck but he will have to fix the front wheel. It should have a single front wheel. old_bc
