My son just acquired one of these less the engine and mower deck.
Does anybody know what brand of engine Bush Hog used or what year it may be.
Are there any sites on them ?
They sure used a lot of steel in this thing.

Many years ago, I had a little Bush Hog tractor, made in Selma Albama, and I think it was a V series with a 10 horse Wisconsin TR10D engine. This tractor had a dry plate auto-style clutch, and driveline instead of belts. It also had a PTO out the back. E-mail if I can be of assistance. Tom

I also had one with the 10hp Wisconsin it was a D-4-10. I also heard they made a D-4-6 (6HP) and D-4-12 (12HP), but never heard of a V series.

I think the last number is the HP - yours might be a 6hp Wisconsin.

Seemed like a tough little machine but heard that the drive shafts were not hardened and broke quite easily. The previous owner of mind broke one or two.

They have been out of business for quite some time and my last lead on parts was lost 5 years ago.

I think I would stay away from this tractor unless its for show.

We have the 10 hp bush hog. It still runs like a dream except the rear right axle just broke. We have almost everything for the tractor, but they are impossible to find parts for. If you do contact anyone who has an axle for sale, it would be wonderful if you could post it. I'll check on the engine and post what kind it is.
