Be careful to not damage the threads.. I have two of these and one of them has the threaded steering shaft and had the wheel stuck on it. I mushroomed the threads somewhat even when being careful. Had to get a thread chaser and fix them up. A buddy of mine told me next time to take a felt washer for top post batterys and put it on the shaft and soak it with penetrant. Then install your puller and put a decent pull on it without trying to pull it off right then. Keep coming back everyday and resoaking the washer and tightening the puller. Are you rebuilding the steering sector?

hi bob, is the steering wheel on the ariens i sold you with the loader? hope that tractor still treets you good. them steering wheels pretty much weld them selves on with rust. i have taken a sawz all and cut up and down ward in toward the steering shaft, dont cut into the steering shaft. if you get almost threw start to chisel it and it should come loose. then you need another steering wheel. ebay has them time to time.
