My Dad has a 169 Cub and I was wondering if anyone had some information on it. I read some of the posts and it seems that it is a rare machine. What makes it so rare? Would it be worth restoring? Have any of you made a puller out of a 169? As always any and all help is appreciated.

Would not be worth a hoot as puller tractor, it has a hydro tranny, and if you were to pull with it you would loose engine power to run the hydro. You need to find yourself a gear drive tractor, then you can build to your hearts content, then you get all your hp to the wheels, instead of loosing it in the hydro.

The 169 is Cub's first 16HP tractor. There were only made from March to October of 1974. There were only 4,005 units made. It is not the rarest but close to it. Restoring..??..you betcha...!!!

I am sorry, I can't help you in the pulling arena. Seems a shame to butcher up a Classic Cub.
